Apply now and define the future of work!</span></div></div><h2><strong>What this job can offer you</strong></h2> <p>As a <span class="notion-enable-hover" data-token-index="1">Forward Deployed Engineer (AI)</span> at Remote, you will work directly with customers and internal stakeholders to design, build, and deploy AI-powered solutions that connect Remote’s platform to customer systems and workflows. You will turn messy, real-world requirements into production-grade implementations — often by building integrations, automations, and agentic workflows — and you’ll translate field learnings back into reusable patterns and product roadmap inputs.</p> <ul> <li>High autonomy and direct ownership of customer outcomes — from discovery through production rollout</li> <li>Work at the frontier of practical AI: shipping systems that are reliable, observable, secure, and measurable</li> <li>A seat at the intersection of Product, Engineering, Sales/CS, and customer teams — with clear influence on what we build next</li> <li>Exposure to a wide set of domains (HR, payroll, finance ops, IT, integrations) and complex enterprise ecosystems</li> <li>A remote-first environment with strong documentation culture and high trust</li> </ul> <h2><strong>What you bring</strong></h2> <ul> <li> <h3>Must have</h3> <ul> <li>Demonstrated experience shipping production software (backend and/or full-stack) and owning it in production (on-call mindset, debugging, instrumentation)</li> <li>Strong integration and systems thinking: APIs, event-driven systems, webhooks, auth (OAuth/service accounts), data modeling, idempotency, and failure modes</li> <li>Applied AI/LLM experience beyond prototypes: prompt+tool design, RAG and retrieval patterns, evaluation, latency/cost trade-offs, and reliability practices</li> <li>Ability to operate in ambiguity: you can go from “problem statement” to “shipped solution” with minimal hand-holding</li> <li>Clear, structured communication in writing; ability to explain trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders</li> </ul> <h3>Nice to have</h3> <ul> <li>Experience with enterprise environments (security reviews, compliance constraints, procurement, change management)</li> <li>Experience building with agent frameworks and/or workflow orchestration systems</li> <li>Familiarity with HRIS, payroll, identity/access management, or adjacent enterprise domains</li> <li>Experience with multi-tenant SaaS, RBAC, and data privacy by design</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <h2>Key Responsibilities</h2> <ul> <li><strong>Partner with customers</strong> to understand operational challenges, constraints, and success criteria; run structured technical discovery and d
