About the role You'll own strategic silicon sourcing for Anthropic's global data center footprint, working across the components that determine what our infrastructure can do and when it can do it: CPUs, memory (DRAM and HBM), and the other semiconductors that sit at the heart of every platform we deploy. You'll be the commercial owner who makes sure the right silicon is allocated, committed, and landed at the right site at the right time, on terms that hold up across programs and across market cycles. You'll work day-to-day with Anthropic engineering, our data center operator partners, silicon vendors, OEMs, ODMs, and integrators. You'll be the bridge between platform roadmaps and the supply base, securing allocation on constrained parts, negotiating long-term supply and capacity agreements, managing vendor performance, and optimizing for lead time, cost, and on-time delivery against an aggressive deployment roadmap. You'll build a deep view of the silicon market, including packaging capacity, memory pricing cycles, and vendor roadmaps, and turn it into sourcing strategies that protect Anthropic's supply and its cost structure. In any given week you might be locking in CPU and memory allocation for a new platform, supporting NPI BOMs with qualified alternates, expediting constrained components, chasing down a lead-time slip with a silicon vendor, running a competitive process across processor or memory suppliers, developing supplier scorecards, negotiating multi-year supply agreements, or partnering with engineering to keep an in-flight program on track. You'll partner closely with Claude throughout, including vendor benchmarking, contract analysis, scenario and cost modeling, and drafting clean negotiation records. Responsibilities • Run end-to-end strategic sourcing for silicon across our data center platforms (CPUs, memory including DRAM and HBM), from vendor engagement and competitive process through supply agreements and ongoing vendor performance management. • Secure allocation and capacity commitments on constrained parts, and negotiate long-term supply, pricing, and capacity agreements that protect Anthropic's deployment plans through market cycles. • Own the operational rhythm with silicon vendors: supplier scorecards, allocation and capacity tracking, roadmap alignment, and quarterly business reviews. • Maintain a market view of the silicon supply chain, including foundry and advanced-packaging capacity, memory pricing cycles, and vendor roadmaps, and translate it into sourcing strategies, qualified alternates, and cost targets. • Negotiate commercial terms and keep them aligned with platform roadmaps and deployment schedules, with a bias toward execution and on-time delivery. • Triage silicon supply issues across programs, drive trade-off decisions with engineering, finance, and deploy operations, and keep stakeholders aligned through ambiguity. • Build Claude-powered workflows that the sourcing team and partners adopt for vendor benchmarking, requests for quotes, contract analysis, cost and scenario modeling, and reporting. • Produce the deal memos, supply agreement summaries, vendor business reviews, and operational readouts that engineering and ops leadership rely on to keep programs on track.
