To strengthen our team, we are looking for a motivated and solution-oriented Project Engineer (m/f/d) with a focus on heating grids to support the implementation of transformation plans and feasibility studies and to contribute to the development of innovative tools and solutions for future-oriented energy systems. Requirements You have a deep understanding of energy systems and/or computer science You have strong skills in simulation and programming, particularly Python You have experience with Django or comparable Python-based web frameworks You have 2–5 years of practical experience in energy modelling, data science or engineering software development You have experience with Git-based version control and GitHub, including clean commits, pull requests and branching strategies You are familiar with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and linting You have experience with QGIS and geospatial data analysis You are familiar with geospatial Python libraries such as GeoPandas, Shapely and PyProj You have experience with agentic coding and AI-supported development workflows, for example LLMs, Copilots or automated coding agents You are familiar with Agile development environments and code review practices You are interested in SaaS applications and enjoy turning technical concepts into production-ready software You have good communication skills in English You can balance the requirements and expectations of an end research institute environment with the practical needs of greenventory and a production software environment Benefits Career prospects: Work in a sustainable, socially relevant and absolutely future-proof field.
