About the role: Samsara is looking for a Senior Manager, Finance and Strategy, to partner with our Research & Development (R&D) organization. Samsara’s R&D organization creates the industry-leading IoT products and features that power our customer experience. In this role, you will partner with business leaders to set and achieve corporate goals. You will drive quantitative and qualitative analysis to inform strategic judgements and identify optimization opportunities. You will support corporate financial goals by driving forecast models and providing accurate guidance to our leaders and investors. You also will lead our financial planning and analysis (FP&A) processes across Samsara’s R&D organization. This role is a remote role open to candidates based in Canada. In this role, you will: • Serve as the finance lead for Samsara's R&D organization, partnering directly with C-level leaders on budget trade-offs, headcount decisions, and infrastructure investment • Own FP&A for R&D and Supply Chain Operations — monthly BvA reviews with VP-level leaders, quarterly reforecasts, and the annual operating plan across Software, Firmware, and Hardware Engineering, Product Management, and Supply Chain Operations • Own forecasting and controllership across Samsara's largest cost drivers: COGS and Gross Margin, hardware costs (including cash and COGS), employee expenses, total compensation economics,
