Legal at Brex The Legal team helps the company grow responsibly, advocating for Brex and for the thousands of growing businesses we serve. We provide strategic advice and guidance to all Brex teams, protect Brex, advise on risk, and represent the company externally, negotiating with partners and interacting with regulators. What you'll do You will help us build, globally scale, and continuously improve Brex's spend management software products, including budgets, spend policies, approvals, and audit and controls from the earliest stages of ideation through launch—translating complex regulatory, card network, and bank partner requirements into practical product decisions and helping teams move fast without compromising on compliance. You'll help advise on the regulatory and commercial issues that arise across software and fintech products—data privacy, contracting, intellectual property, AI and automation, and consumer- and commercial-protection requirements—providing strategic advice on risk and ambiguity as we design and ship new features. Embedded with engineering, product, and design teams, you'll partner from the earliest stages of ideation through launch—translating complex requirements into practical product decisions and helping teams move fast without compromising on compliance. You'll also collaborate closely with cross-functional partners (including privacy, security, compliance, marketing, sales, and partnerships) to find creative solutions to business problems. You know how to break a project down into first principles and see it from concept to release, and you understand when to solve a problem in-house. Where you’ll work This role will be based in our San Francisco office. We are a hybrid environment that combines the energy and connections of being in the office with the benefits and flexibility of working from home. We currently require a minimum of three coordinated days in the office per week, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. As a perk, we also have up to four weeks per year of fully remote work!
