Knowledge Sharing & Engineering Influence: Contribute to a culture of engineering excellence by sharing knowledge, improving team practices, and promoting high standards for software development. Collaboration & Problem Solving: Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders, actively contribute to design reviews, and address root causes of recurring technical challenges. Ownership & Mentorship: Take responsibility for challenging projects and guide team members through technical mentoring and hands-on support. Strategic Thinking & Growth Mindset: Balance short-term delivery with long-term system sustainability and continuously look for opportunities to improve technology, processes, and team effectiveness. Understand the Business: Gain deep insights into non-technical, business-related processes within a leading FinTech company and help shape solutions that drive real impact. Maximum Flexibility: Work remotely from anywhere in Germany, with only two office visits per year required. Your profile Passionate Developer: You enjoy solving complex problems, writing high-quality software, and contributing ideas in an agile environment. Backend Expertise: Several years of hands-on experience with object-oriented programming (preferably PHP) and MySQL databases. Cloud & Containerization Know-How: Experience with Kubernetes, Docker and CI/CD pipelines for seamless deployment and scalability. Event-Driven Architecture: Familiarity with Kafka and event-driven or service-oriented architectures is a plus. Testing Enthusiast: Knowledge of PHPUnit or Cypress to ensure robust software quality. Monitoring & Performance Optimization: Experience with New Relic or similar tools to keep services running smoothly. Version Control Savvy: Proficient in Git, ensuring efficient collaboration and clean versioning practices. Finance Enthusiast: Interest in financial systems and processes; experience in FinTech development is a plus. Product-Oriented Mindset: A strong focus on building solutions that deliver measurable value for users and business outcomes. Team & Communication Skills: Strong communication skills in English (German is a plus) and a collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and contribute to a supportive engineering culture.
