In November 2023 we launched our non-food retail offering, Deliveroo ‘Shopping’, where we work with large and small merchants. We oversee all operations within the grocery and retail ecosystem, ensuring stores are equipped to receive and efficiently process orders. Our solutions empower stores to manage orders seamlessly through multiple channels, including our in-house app, API integration, and devices pre-installed with our software. Additionally, we provide tools to maintain and update product catalogs, ensuring accurate inventory for consumers. The technology we’ve developed enables our partners to pick the correct items swiftly while keeping inventory data current, optimizing both efficiency and accuracy. We’re looking for a Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack to join our London team. In this role, you’ll help us build and scale seamless, high-performance features that span our entire stack, ensuring a world-class experience for our customers, partners, and riders. What You’ll Be Doing This role is based in our London office with a hybrid setup, typically 3 days in the office. Here’s what your day-to-day might look like: • Drive technical execution by designing, building, and scaling backend services and frontend components that handle high-traffic workloads (20krpm and above). • Lead architectural improvements and code reviews, ensuring the efficiency, visibility, and operational health of your team's systems. • Partner with cross-functional disciplines (PMs, Experience Designers) to plan projects, foresee dependencies, and mitigate technical risks. • Break down complex problems into deliverable choices, influencing the roadmap and technical direction within your team. • Support the growth of others by mentoring colleagues and taking an active role in our engineering hiring process to build high-performing teams.
