About the Role: We are looking for a Senior Product Designer to design, prototype, and launch CivGov and Commercial Solutions and define how users interact with and derive insights from Planet’s satellite Earth Observation (EO) data. In this role, you will bridge the gap between Planet’s platform capabilities and valuable customer outcomes. With a relentless focus on the user, you will define user profiles, establish jobs-to-be-done, and design end-to-end user flows for high-value market opportunities. You will collaborate closely with Product and Engineering to decompose these workflows into scalable, reusable UX building blocks, ultimately crafting cohesive, customer-centric solutions. This is a full-time, hybrid role which will require you to work from our Berlin or Haarlem office 3 days per week. Impact You’ll Own: • Product Design Leadership: Drive the end-to-end design process, from initial discovery and user research to prototyping and high-fidelity execution. • Discovery & Validation: Lead user research and prototype testing to validate high-value use cases within CivGov and Commercial ensuring all development is grounded in validated user needs. • User-Centric Goal Setting: Define clear objectives based on user discovery (e.g., identifying success criteria for a CivGov compliance officer) to drive meaningful outcomes. • Design & Architecture: Architect intuitive interfaces that translate complex geospatial data into actionable insights, establishing reusable interaction patterns and components for Planet’s solutions. • Cross-Functional Strategy: Partner with product and engineering to ensure top-tier design quality; facilitate cross-team collaboration to align on ambiguous problem spaces and bridge the gap between technical capability and customer value. • Design Culture: Actively contribute to building and elevating Planet’s design culture. What You Bring: • 6+ years designing complex SaaS or B2B products, taking projects from early ideation to launch. • Bachelor’s degree in design or an equivalent field. • End-to-end experience, in terms of taking projects from early ideation to live software, and iterating based on feedback. • A solid portfolio displaying complex professional projects, your process, and the resulting impact. • Experience conducting user research and usability testing, synthesizing findings into actionable improvements. • A track record of designing sophisticated, data-heavy a
